Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the opinions of teachers set for the procedures regarding the principles of appointment as Assistant Education Inspector in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of National Education Education Inspectors Regulation published in the Official Gazette on March 1, 2022, numbered 317685. The study used a qualitative research method, and data were collected from 91 teachers working at different education levels in various branches in the provinces of Elazig and Hatay during the 2022-2023 academic year. Researchers developed a semi-structured interview form as the data collection tool. The data were analyzed using content analysis, and based on the findings, it was observed that the opinions of the teachers were more specific that there is an experience requirement for assistant inspectors, but there is no age requirement, and assistant inspectors should not be selected from those without teaching qualifications. However, as the written exam varies based on the graduated faculty, the opinions of the teachers regarding the interview application after the written exam differ. Furthermore, within the scope of the study, suggestions were made for the appointment of assistant inspectors.
